About the Author

Patricia O. Quinn. M.D. is a developmental pediatrician in the Washington, D.C. area. A graduate of the Georgetown University Medical School, she specializes in child development and psychopharmacology. Dr. Quinn has worked for over 30 years in the areas of AD/HD and learning disabilities. She gives workshops nationwide and has published widely in these fields.

Nancy Ratey, Ed.M., ABDA, MCC holds a master's degree in administration planning and social policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, is a Master Certified Coach and is the Immediate Past President of ADDA. As co-founder of the AD/HD coaching field, Nancy is widely recognized as the leader of on-going efforts to develop and advance the coaching profession. She is frequently featured in the media, lectures nationally and internationally, writes extensively on coaching including co-authoring 2 books and, contributing chapters on coaching to many other texts. Known for her high energy and directedness, Nancy branded “Strategic Life Coaching” to reflect her own unique style and philosophy towards coaching. This method of coaching is geared towards high achieving senior executives and professionals with AD/HD. Nancy lives in Wellesley, MA with her husband and 3 dogs.

Theresa E. Laurie Maitland has been a Learning Disabilities/ADHD Specialist in the Learning Disabilities Services (LDS) program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since 1994. Throughout her career, Theresa has conducted numerous workshops and presentations on issues related to attentional, learning and behavioral differences and disabilities. Since 1996, she has been collaborating with colleagues at LDS to learn more about the unique issues professionals encounter serving the increased numbers of college students diagnosed with ADHD.

Summary

Coaching College Students with AD/HD provides both the rational and the tools to help college students deal with the issues that cause them so much frustration and result in underacheivement. College students with AD/HD are negatively affected by serious difficulties in time and task management.
